FILIPINO TIES

Summer 2010 - Registration materials available in late spring of 2009

Highlights:

  • Manila and Cebu
  • Ties Program "Talk Times"
  • Lake Taal and Taal Volcano
  • Corregidor Island

Our journey together begins in Manila.  In Manila we will visit the orphanages and child care agencies that are an important part of your family's history.  We will also spend time at the open markets, shopping malls and historical/cultural sights that the Philippines is famous for.  Each family will have time to reconnect with the people and places that are significant to their child(ren).  From Manila we will head to Lake Taal and spend a few days enjoying this resort area and viewing the historic volcano there.  Then we are off to Cebu.  While in Cebu we will visit a school and a few child welfare organizations located in and around the city.  Of course we will take time to enjoy the beautiful beaches of this idyllic island.  Before we leave the Philippines we will take a day to visit Corregidor Island

The Ties program provides an adoption professional to facilitate "talk times" for parents and children on all our tours.  These discussions provide the group with an opportunity to process and understand what they are experiencing and how it relates to adoption.  These discussions and the friendships that are created along the way is what makes this kind of trip truly unforgettable.

CAMBODIA TIES

December 27, 2008- January 7, 2009

The Ties Program is expanding to Cambodia!

Our first group will be traveling during December of 2008. Like our other Ties programs, there will be group events, talktimes, and individual family activities all designed to help you and your child build a deeper, more meaningful connection to Cambodia.  We hope to arrange a visit to a school, a dance academy and to an orphanage.  Of coures we will take time out to shop, sightsee and enjoy a relaxing boat ride. The heritage of Cambodia is diverse, rich and colorful.  We will spend two weeks exploring all the facets of this beautiful country.  We will have expert local guides all along the way who will ensure that we do not miss any of the highights!  An adoption professional will be with the group to provide support as you are challenged and enthralled by your child's birthcountry.  If you or someone you know is interested in this program, please contact The Ties Program for more details.
